Hi,
dies habe ich im 124turbo.com Forum gefunden. Auspuffkrümmer passen, Zylinderabstände und Kopfschrauben kompatibel. Hat das bei uns auch schon mal jemand versucht ?
The work was actually performed by a guy called Terry O'Sullivan (RIP) who ran (for a few years before he passed) a small engineering shop in West Perth (he was parts manager of Premier Motors for many years before that)
It all began in the mid 1980's when one of the other parts guys at Premier Motors (Mike Smith ... I wonder if he is still around??) noticed the similarities between the suzuki and Fiat head gaskets and exhaust manifold gaskets ... premiers were also a Suzuki agent at the time....
The actual conversion itself was quite straight forward, but as with most of these types of projects, involved some fabrication, and lots of head scratching.
The suzuki head and the fiat block have compatible head bolt and cylinder bore spacing and alignment. The Fiat block needed to be machined to fit the suzuki head gasket alignment dowels.
A Triger 850/127 belt drive conversion kit was used to provide the crankshaft end of the belt drive and keep the oilpump turning, the original camshaft stayed in the block, but was machined down. A tensioner assmbly was fabricated from a Fiat sohc unit. A vernier cam gear was fabricated from a Fiat SOHC cam gear, with the centre to suit the suzuki camshaft. A new suzuki camshaft was ground for reverse rotation (as the 850 engine spins CCW). An external oil feed was used to provide camshaft lubrication.
A special inlet manifold was fabricated to fit 2 x 38dcoes (ex lancia fulvia), the 850 coupe exhaust went straight onto the suzuki head.
Special pistons were machined to give the correct crown shape to suit the suzuki head.
So not a "straight on" swap , but possible, I've seen it, and saw all the parts being made, but sadly thas man who made it happen has passed on.
