Well I have fixed most of the rost
And I have fitted an Angsten Kit with a big front spoiler. I got new bumpers and I relocated the blinkers.

I have a Angsten kit home that I want to fit the car. The -84 bumpers I have dont fit it but there is a Lancia here on the schrott which has smaller bumbers, i think it is like the one on the picture but it is not an Abarth so I hope it doesn´t matter. I can fit the Angsten rear spoiler if I have the -83 bumper and this should cover the emty space in the back?

I need you advice guys!

What would be best and easiest thing to do, should I fit the kit with the new smaller bumpers or should I try to cut and fit my bumpers ?

Does the old smaller bumpers mod -79/83 fit on the new model -84/-85 without modification?

How can they measure the power in the engine if it is on the rollers? It is better to know how much PS one has on the wheels as that is what you actually get on the road as you drive. I was just curious how much it equals in the engine.

Thing is if the Abarth only actually has 65-67 PS in the engine then there is not more than 50-55 PS at the wheels and that is very different from 70PS.
If I have now almost 70 PS at the WHEELS than I am very satisfied.

I have 67 (US) HP/50kw at the wheels. I only reved it to 6500 -7000 rpm. But I could rev further cuz the kw just continued rising higher up the revs. The man said there should be around 79 hp in the engine if I have 50kw at the wheels! The car feels alot faster but the gas becomes leaner after 6000 rpm and I should not drive long distances in these revs. He also said that the 34 weber DMTR that I have is not good for the Abarth. He changed my fuel screws several times. All in all I think I should be pretty satified with this.

Another intressting thing is that at 6500 rpm in 4th gear, my meter showed around 160km/h but the real speed was actually only 140km/h.

How many PS does the Abarth actually have? Does anyone know how many it has on the wheels?

Im going on the rolling road tomorrow and I want to know what to compare with. Also, in what gear is the ps meassured?

I have read what you guys are saying. The thing is that exept from the pics you have seen and in the rear next to the dampers there is no other place on the car that has rust of such magnitude. No other places are "durchgerosted". Before I took the plastics off I was happy with the small rost spots here and there cuz they are not bad at all and I thought my car was healthy. But now that it is not I have to do the best of the situation cuz I am not a millionere .

I will switch the "Schwellers" to brand new ones, I will cut of the rusty arches and put an Angsten wide kit on. The rust in the back next to the dampers is also not a problem to fix. The rusty rear left panel is actually the only problem. I will have to cut it of and have it rebuild with new plate as good as it can be. The rear bumper goes back on anyway. I belive all these stuff will stop the rust from spreading.

Is there anyone here on this forum that knows the guy who owns the red and yellow car above or someone who knows the owner? I want to get intouch with this person.

I know. The threads in the hub are worn out. I have a new hub but I haven't bothered yet to change.

And even more important: please remove the inner plastics covering the place that holds your rear shock absorbers and look for rust, beacause if your rear quarterpanel looks like this, chances are good that the rear shockmounts are also damaged... (see pic below...)

I have also removed the inner plastics. There are rust holes on both sides next to the shock absorbers but also in the corners.

I have to go to a specialist with this. Maybe this would be a good time to fit me a breiterung kit like Angsten or something similar?

Today I took away the rear bumper and the plastics around and inside the car....I got a chock when I saw all the rust! (See pics below)

I have alot of repairing to do now.
